Pick-up my writing in the New Year

With Christmas just around the corner, and New Year’s after that, I don’t expect to finish the Spanish Grand Prix chapter of The Encounter Down Under any time soon. I reckon I’d be best off just planning to pick-up writing for my Senna versus Schumacher story in January. And, as you’ve read, I’ll be working on the book at least one day every other week, so I hope to progress more than I have done the last few months.

Thanks to all my readers for their interest, this year. I hope to make everybody happy with part II of my book early next year. For now, though a bit early, I wish you a very merry Christmas and all the best for 2009.

Finished the Monaco chapter

Monaco flagI’ve just finished the Monaco chapter. I reviewed the parts I had written late August, and added some post-race information, mostly about Wendlinger’s situation.

Next week I’ll spend researching the Spanish Grand Prix. This was the first race where the FIA’s changes to cars and circuits were introduced, so I’ll write about that. Plus I’ll have to come up with the story of the race weekend, and decide who’ll take victory here.

I’ll keep you posted. In the mean time, feel free to drop me a line.

Monaco GP chapter all but finished

I have written the race part of the Monaco Grand Prix chapter for my Senna versus Schumacher story. The chapter is now all but finished, with just the aftermath of the race needing work. I want to incorporate thingslike Pedro Lamy’s testing accident and reactions to the FIA’s rule changes into that. When that’s done, I’ll re-read the chapter and make any changes necessary. Then, next up is Spain.

Back on track with Monaco GP

Today I re-started my writing again with the first paragraphs for the Monaco Grand Prix. It’s my first writing since my wife gave birth to a baby boy: Nathan.

I started work by interpreting the goings-on since the San Marino race, with the FIA’s press statements, the Italian magistrates’ actions regarding the Imola circuit’s managing director et cetera.

The result for my alternate 1994 Monte Carlo race is already set, of course, but my task, now, is to write a good story for the race leading to this result. I’ll keep you posted on my progress.

San Marino chapter at 80%

San Marino flagDuring my two-week vacation — I came home last Friday — I wrote a large part of chapter 4 of my alternate version of the 1994 Formula One season, The Encounter Down Under. I reckon I’m up to 80 percent, now, and I expect to finish the chapter tonight and next Sunday.

However, before I publish part I of my Senna versus Schumacher book, I plan to re-read the first 4 chapters and edit them where deemed necessary. So you may expect to download the pdf somewhere late May, early June — so I’m asking for just a tad more patience.
