Contemplating on an ultra-short version of my story

Yesterday, I came up with a fresh idea. I’m contemplating on writing an ultra-short version of The Encounter Down Under which covers the entire story, just without all the details. This might yet be an interesting read, and serve as a basis on which to work on the longer version of the Senna versus Schumacher story.

Time to face the music

While striking another month off the calendar, and even the 15th Aniversary of Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna’s death passing, I haven’t found a single hour to work on my book. I’ve been very busy with many, many other activities which require as much priority as attention, so I believe it’s time for me to face the music:

  • I won’t be working on The Encounter Down Under, at least until the end of Summer.

That saddens me, because I’ve had a great time coming up with ideas, doing research, and writing my Senna versus Schumacher story. It’s just a matter of first things first for me, and I hope to be able to dedicate some more time to my story, either in its original form or as a prober book, from September or October.

Elaborating on Schumacher’s Spanish gear selection problems

I’ve re-read my additions to the 1994 Spanish Grand Prix chapter and made various changes to the text. However, I still find the race part a bit meagre. I plan to elaborate on Schumacher’s gear selection problems a bit more — remember, Schumi’s Benetton-Ford was stuck in 5th gear from roughly the first pit stop onwards — to give the chapter a little more body.

… And Senna opened his eyes

Yes, that’s just about the phrase I use.

It took me a while to decide on how to make it known that Senna wasn’t killed in his Imola accident. But this should be it. I won’t give away more just yet, but I’m almost there. I’ve all but finished the race review, and only have the aftermath, with all the rule changes and stuff, to go. So hang in there for just a bit more.

Video compilation to accompany my story

I’ve made a short video compilation to accompany ‘The Encounter Down Under’. It consists of images from the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix weekend.

The film contains footage of fatal accidents, so viewer discretion is advised.

Edit: sadly my video was removed from YouTube because of complaints by Formula One Management. It may be that you won’t be able to see the video any longer.
